How configure Digital ocean DNS for use a external Domain with just A redirect to my droplet ip

Posted on July 20, 2015

Hello! I have actually this website: http://auditoriodetenerife.eu Its a redesign of this website: http://auditoriodetenerife.com (old one)

I need help with domain, i explain the case:

The server of the old websites its really bad, so we decided to use digitalocean from now to the .com domain, and the .eu (temporal domain will redirect back to .com)… I have .eu in /auditorio

And the .eu and .com i want to redirect them to /auditorio2 (to be only one website and erase the old website…)

The emails and dns of auditoriodetenerife.com should maintain in the old server, and they will do in the old server a A redirect to my droplet ip…

What should be the correct DNS and vhost configuration in DigitalOcean to use auditoriodetenerife.com with /auditorio2 ??

Hope i have fine explained, my english is bad.

Thanks.

Hey, mhhh this is a god question. Some domain providers give you access to such a tool. Basicly its only a webserver which rewrite the url to another. Just create a new vHost and put it on your server. With this you can redirect the old domain to the new domain.
