How do I create an SQL instance on Centos 7 and make it available for other applications to connect to

I have been having trouble for weeks trying to do this, can someone please help.

Hey friend!

On CentOS 7 you’re most likely going to want to break away from MySQL and use MariaDB. Don’t worry, you won’t notice the difference, for your purpose it’s going to be exactly the same and you’re only going to reference it that one time while installing it. We have a tutorial that can help here:
