Hello,

I am a marketing guy and want to migrate my wordpress website from Godaddy to Digital Ocean.

How exactly to start with Digital Ocean for my wordpress site

What server to select?

Is there any one to one support from Digital Ocean?

Which server really depends on how much traffic you're getting and how much you can spend.

Since you're a marketing guy, you'll want to roll with the WordPress image, as opposed to a plain Debian or Ubuntu image. It'll give you a ready-to-use WordPress installation.

You can always increase your droplet size later on. If I were in your position, I'd probably start with the 1GB droplet for $10/month. However, if you're getting hundreds of thousands of visits per month, you may want to opt for a droplet with more resources.

  • Currently there are only 50 to 70 visitors a day. Can I go with only $5/month.
Also i would not require any other setup while creating a droplet?
Shall I directy go in image and opt with wordpress image?

    • You would be fine if you go with a $5/month droplet to start.
If you got some linux experience you could use php-fpm, nginx and memcached to improve the performance and cache the site. With this you can easily hold your visitors

      • Great I did the migration and successful.

One new problem. My emails are hosted with godaddy.
Now My emails have stopped working. How to solve this?
