Hi, My website droplet has a floating IP assigned to it. As the popularity of the website is growing rapidly, I have now decided to mirror the droplet using a snapshot and place both droplets behind a load-balancer.
All pretty simple so far. I have mirrored the droplet without problems and created the load balancer but I now need to reassign the floating IP to point at the load balancer instead of the old droplet but the load balancer isn’t listed in the floating IP’s ‘reassign IP list’, and entering the load balancers IP address and/or name results in a ‘no results found’ message.
Am I missing something or is there simply no way to do this yet? I know that load balancers were only released 5 months ago, so perhaps this functionality isn’t available yet?
Many thanks for your help.

Hi @gregb773f4bb684c5057f37f1d
Correct, it is currently not possible to assign a Floating IP to a Load Balancer. It is a planned feature, but I don’t know anything more than that: https://digitalocean.uservoice.com/forums/136585-digitalocean/suggestions/18228658-allow-floating-ips-to-point-to-load-balancers
Or you could vote for this idea which is the same but currently have more votes :-)
