How to configure a static website from a DO space

I wanted to see if it anyone has hosted a static website from a DO space using a custom domain. For comparison, I’d like to see how we can achieve this similarly to how you might do this with an S3 bucket:

Any ideas? Thanks!

  • I’m also looking for this capability. My repository uses Git LFS which is not supported by Digital Ocean App Platform. It doesn’t appear that Digital Ocean offers a solution for my simple static application.

Hey @hakawati,

I believe that this is not yet possible out of the box. You could use a small Droplet with Ngnix and upload your static website there.

But this is a great idea, sounds like it’d be super useful!

It looks like someone has had the same idea before and has posted it on our Product Ideas board. The best thing to do would be to head over and add your vote to it, as well as adding any additional information in the comments for exactly what you’d like to see implemented!

Hope that helps!

  • Hi,

I need to either know how to enable CDN for static website running on droplet , or need to know how can i serve the static site from DO s3 space with CDN enabled , because the latency from china to New York is too much. The site will be slow without CDN

Why not host your static site on DO app?
