How to display a full external FAQ/knowledge base page on a website (not via popup widget)?

Posted on February 4, 2026

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a website where I want users to access a full FAQ / knowledge base page directly on the site, instead of through a small popup or floating widget.

I looked into iframe-based embedding, but it seems many platforms now block this due to security headers. I’m trying to understand the best practice approach for showing a complete help/FAQ section on a separate website.

What are the recommended options in this case?

  • Rebuilding the FAQ as a custom page?

  • Fetching content via API and rendering it server-side or client-side?

  • Any other scalable or SEO-friendly solutions?

Would appreciate guidance or real-world examples. Thanks!

Hi there,

It looks like Freshdesk pages are now sent with security headers that prevent iframe embedding (X-Frame-Options / CSP). So even though older posts mention iframes, that approach seems to be blocked today and not something you can enable with a setting. That lines up with what you’re seeing.

What people seem to do instead falls into two practical directions. One is using a custom support domain, like support.yoursite.com, and letting the full Freshdesk portal live there. It’s not embedded inside your page, but visually and UX-wise it still feels like part of your site, and you don’t lose built-in search, navigation, or article management.

Hope that this helps!
