Question

How to enable CORS in my digital ocean droplet?

Hi all I deployed my first webapp, it has a frontend and a backend. Unfortunately the machine doesn’t have CORS enabled.

How can I enable it? The tutorials I found where all for the app platform or spaces. Many thanks in advance!

Hi there,

You don’t really need to make any specific changes to the Droplet itself, but to your backend service and possibly Nginx if you are use Nginx.

For Nginx, you would need to following details in your proxy pass definition:

    proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080;
    proxy_set_header Access-Control-Allow-Origin *;
    proxy_set_header Host $host;

If you are using a different stack, feel free to share more details and I could try to advise you further.

Best,

Bobby
