I use the free open source VPN SoftEther VPN from (install the app in the folder downloaded) and I encountered the same issue. I finally opened it with Opera GX (Super quick secure browser for gamers. My favorite so far. You can control the resources (CPU, RAM) and integrated VPN.)

So, with Opera GX I used it with blocking trackers on and adblock and suddenly it works!

Have a good one! <3

Hi @gabrc14

I assume you want to use private VPN to bypass Netflix and Hulu geolocation.

Unfortunately, streaming providers such as Netflix and Hulu are not very kind to IP address from data center due to abuse.

You have better luck if the IP address is being labeled as from ISP. You can visit and key in one IP address to determine their usage classification.

Hey @gabrc14,

My assumption is Netflix has some kind of ‘list’ of the big cloud providers and blocks all of the IP ranges. If you think about it, servers shouldn’t be watching Netflix, right?

So to answer your question, it is most probably not possible. If you manage to land on a droplet within an IP range that does not fall under one of their radars - yes, it could be.

Maybe research a little bit about proxies and buy a reliable one. However, I highly doubt this will solve the issue, Netflix will most probably detect you again.

I hope this was helpful and if you decide to buy proxies - please keep us posted!

Best, Dennis
