Question

How to retrive the website from its backup.

my Gettobyte website has gone down. I was changing its theme and somehow its theme gets disconnected from WordPress. Because of this now the Gettobyte website is not loading.

Its hosting is at the digital ocean and I have a backup of the website also on its drive.

It’s just website has to be retrieved from its backup. But I am not able to make out how to do that.

Hello there,

You can follow the article which Bobby linked in his reply. I’ll also recommend making custom backups on your own and then storing them elsewhere just to be on the safe side and not to fill up the disk space on your droplet.

You can also use a plugin for that, WordPress has plenty of plugins which will take care of your backups.

Hi there,

You can follow the steps here on how to restore a Droplet from a backup:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/images/backups/how-to/create-and-restore/#restore-droplets-from-backups

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Bobby
