How to see / set Laravel env variables

Posted on October 5, 2020

I saw another question that said you could see the env variables by running printenv or env but these are different variables then the ones I’m used to seeing in my projects env.

Hello @msslgomez,

Do you need to use the variables from your .env file as environment variables on your Linux server?

If so you could do this by sourcing the .env file with the following commands:

set -a
source .env
set +a

Then after that when you run printenv you will be able to see your variables.

Hope that this helps. Regards, Bobby
