How to SetUp VPS on DigitalOcean

Question

Hello Guys,
this is actually my first time trying to use DigitalOcean, have been using shared hosting all my life, so I decide to use DigitalOcean

The more I try to go about it on my own, the more I got confused

Please I will love to request step by step guidance on how to know how to use digitalOcean

Hi there @zionnite555,

I would recommend starting with this guide on how to create a Droplet here:

Once you have a Droplet, I will suggest going through the initial server setup tutorial here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/initial-server-setup-with-ubuntu-20-04

Here is also a step by step video guide on how to do that:

Once you have your server setup, you can then decide what services you want to install. For example, if you have a WordPress website you can follow a tutorial like this one here:

  Yes, that should not be a problem at all. As long as your NodeJS application is not running on the same port as your PHP application it will be all good.

  Good day!, have been able to create my droplet perfectly well and the resource you pointed me to was very helpful.
  
  however, am trying connect to my droplet via ssh but i got this error message in my commandline Permission denied (publickey).
  
  so i tried to use DigitalOcean Access Console in the Control panel, so i entered my login rooot@ipaddress but password was not entered or given to me.
  
  Please what do i do sir?
