Question

How to update LetsEncrypt renewal domain on ubuntu 18?

The current LetsEncrypy SSL on our domain is correct, but for some reason the logs show an error that when it tries to renew its still trying to renew on an older domain we used to have.

Is there a way to update the ssl renewal domain for Lets Encrypt so that it renews only the current domain and not the older domain ever again.?

When I go to etc/letsencrypt/renewal I see two .conf files. One for the old and one for the new domain.

Greetings!

Great question. Try removing the old domain conf file, or rather just moving it out of the way like this:

mv /etc/letsencrypt/renewal/olddomain.tld.conf /root

Now that should exclude your old domain from certbot renewal attempts. As far as the other error though, it may be important to dive into the details of that specifically, as that could be any number of things.

Thank you!

Thank you. So just removing the olddomain.conf should do the trick?

The error is related to lets encrypt attempting to renew the old domain.
