Question

How to use Droplet Console with iOS keyboard

Hi, has anyone found a good way to use the Droplet Console from an iOS/mobile keyboard?

This is for situations where I might need to check or tweak a server while away from my computer with only my phone.

With the standard iPhone keyboard, I don’t see a way to enter CTRL-C to stop a process, or to hit the UP arrow to go back in my bash history.

Maybe there’s a virtual keyboard (app) for iPhone that would give me more keys to use in the Droplet Console?

Hello @richardkmiller

I’ve used Termius as an ssh-client on iOS devices and the CTRL+C option is available with this client.

You can give it a try or use a different ssh-client as well and see which one is more suitable for your needs.

Hi @richardkmiller,

I’m not using IOS however I believe to indicate a CTRL-C action, you need to click Command + C.

Additionally, regarding the Droplet Console, it’s just for emergencies like you have lost your Droplet access. Otherwise, you just need to use the normal SSH console.

I’m sure there is a virtual keyboard you can install on your phone and use it to type in commands on your Droplet, for sure!
