Cloudways sets up servers for you on Digital Ocean (and Google and Amazon) that have an Nginx, Varnish, Memcached, Apache Server stack that they seem to think is pretty fast.
I’m new to this stuff, so I like the idea of them setting it up for me and all, but I don’t really like their dashboard (mainly because I cannot find an API for their services or how to add my own to their offerings). So I am wondering what the fastest WordPress server stack is and how to set it up.
I’d really like to know how to set up a proper Nginx, Varnish, Memcached, Apache Server stack like Cloudways has and I’d like to understand a little more about what makes it so fast.

… just for the record, that stack is only if you use Wordpress. If you have a custom PHP website, Cloudways do not include the Varnish cache.
