HI DIGITAL OCEAN SUPPORT,

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY AND IT TOOK FOREVER. I DO NOT OPERATE SCAM, FRAUD, HACKING ACTIVITY AND WHY ARE YOU LOCKING MY ACCOUNT AND NOT REPLYING MY TICKET?

this is worst i have seen compared to linode…

i am not a CRIMINAL nor i deserved this. If I am an system Integrator, I would have help my client to setup an account and prepared for his vm, then your HOSTILE and useless system will lock all my account and classified me as a CIRMINAL is it?

You want to know what is worse? Registering under an iCloud email getting $100 free credit enabling google sso as your migrating your wordpress site off another provider to find out OH wow it’s a new account. I did revoke access for an Android phone I no longer have in my possession I’ve spent like 4 hours cover tutorials and I’ll probably never get this reconciled I’m really very upset .

So to be clear, I set up multi factor authentication which I then revoked because it showed a phone I no longer have access too enabled google sso just before that and my account magically vanishes from the air. Rather then being registerd under the iCloud email address it’s now the gmail one.

Why am I posting this here well I took my time website off the web host was going in install UBUNTU then LAMP I really hope this actually gets a resolution rather than expect me to either a. Start from scratch with $50 credit rather than $100 because of what exactly? Please? It’s asking for my billing information and everything from the very beginning and if there was a phone number that I could call I would.

I live in Australia and I was looking forward to taking advantage of the benefits that come with digital Ocean hosting. I have other VPS service providers, but none they claim on Guora that is you know what your doing Digital Ocean is the best.

The same thing is happening to me and the support team isn’t replying me :( I have had another account with DO but I would have never expected that my account will be locked suddenly causing me a great loss in my business

I hope this restrictions are only Limited to Sign up. Or is it related to day to day usage as well. Is any one still facing this issue ?

I am a services provider and handle multiple client Logins, I might be using same browser to access multiple accounts provided by my client . Also I might access multiple accounts from multiple browsers from a same system.

If this is the case all my clients who use Digital Ocean will be in a fix.

I’ve had 2 account created when I started using Digital ocean. One of them was really just a mistake. I create a account with another of my email but never used it (no droplet, no payment information, no credit)

Now I just happened to login to the unused account by mistake (both account pwd where stored in my password manager) and then to my actual account. The account was flagged immediately.

I understand there might be some abuse with account creation but this is clearly excessive IMO:

  • One of the account was not even really “active”
  • 2 login from the same IP is nothing special. What if I have a friend over and he is login into his account at my home. In reality it is much worse than this because with NAT / carrier grade NAT the likelihood you have many user behind the same IP is really quite high !
  • It is possible that Digital Ocean could be checking some additional information such as the browser ID. So maybe my point about the IP is not 100% valid. But what if two people connect to their account from the same computer (it can happen !). 2 logging in by itself is not excessive / not that rare.

I would understand if they flagged IP for creating too many account of maybe even for doing many logging to different account. But right now it seems excessive / not well tuned.

this happend to me too. they wanted to verify records. but i’ve already verified my records like last week? and they want me to answer the same questions again. <br> <br>now my account is locked and no one is replying to me.

Hello, I had recently created another account because I use an account to work on my personal projects, and another to work within the startup that I have with other guys. I personally don’t want to mix both stuff because financial things. <br> <br>The main problem is that after creating my account I paid USD$5 via paypal to use the service, and the system let me make the transaction, but after paying my account was blocked, so I lost that money. Is there a way that you can allow that account to work, or return my money back?. <br> <br>Thanks in advance.

I GIVE YOU MY CREDIT CARD INFO AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER, YOU LOCK MY ACCOUNT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME

I have had nothing but problems with you guys, honestly I’m getting irritated with the service. I host a blog, and my portfolio which has now been ‘hacked’ and been logged as an abusive account for reason I can’t even explain. All I needed was a host and now I can’t even get a reply or start a new ticket in your guys system. This is ridiculous and not fair to me as I am just another developer. Please fix my account, or close it, honestly don’t even care at this point.

Please do not create multiple accounts as it is against <a href=“https://www.digitalocean.com/tos”>our Terms of Service</a>. Open up a support ticket.
