Installing MySQL repository question

Posted on December 3, 2019

Hi, To import a database it’s apparently necessary to install a mysql repository or something else. After downloading it from Oracle, the computer asks what application to open it with. I thought it was the application. What application is it supposed to use to open it?

From these links: https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/databases/mysql/how-to/import-databases/ https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/file/?id=491630

Thank you

Hello,

I can see that you are referring to the Managed MySQL databases, in this case I would recommend following the steps in this tutorial on how to install the MySQL client:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-connect-to-managed-database-ubuntu-18-04

Once you have the MySQL client, you can then import your database backup.
