Is it good to configure zpanel in digital ocean?

Posted February 9, 2015 4.7k views

I am not able to configure multiple domains.
And I am not good at managing linux servers.
So I was wondering whether I could use zpanel instead of cpanel, as my budget is low?
And if I am using it is it errorless and doesnt give any problems?

Hello, all

This is a really interesting question that I’ve seen before and would like to share my opinion with the rest of you.

There a lot of web panels available (most of them are free to use) that you can choose in order to manage your server. What I can recommend is to try them as in this way you can see if it really suits your needs.

I will list the top control panels that I recommend:

CentOS Web Panel
Vesta CP

and of course I need to mention Plesk although it’s not free it’s been available for a while and it’s always been the main cPanel competitor. It has a lot of build-in features and a lot of plugins that you can install and you can always reach to their support team if needed which is something that might come handy in time.

You’ve now got some great options if you want to use a control panel with your server but you don’t want to pay for a license. I’ve tried to lay out most of the available options, but which one is best will ultimately depend on your individual needs.

Hope that this helps!

If you choose to use zpanel, you will be responsible to install it yourself and fix any issues that may arise, since DigitalOcean is an unmanaged provider and doesn’t really provide support to what goes on inside the droplet.

Lastly, expecting that something can be “errorless and doesn’t give any problems” is ludicrous. This will never happen, regardless of the software you decide to use.

Good luck,

I’m using the zPanel in DO and too much about VPS managing & related subjects, I learned with Google and zPanel community.
But, my suggestion is to install the Sentora, because the zPanel is a little abandoned since this software was bought by Hostwinds. The zPanel community and developers was migrated to Sentora ( and launched a new release based on zPanel with bugs corrections and some new features.
But, remember: you need to read more in community tutorials ( about VPS security, firewalls and others. Google about it will help you too with your VPS manager and security improvement.
About errors and problems, this depends of the human when managing the server. If you want to learn more about this, you will search, study security improvements and others tools when can help you to manage your VPS independent of control panel you have choice.
Good luck,

VESTA CP is best. if you want free control panel. Or pay for cpanel. bcoz FREE stuff may create problems.
