Jetpack photon plugin does not show images on my website

Posted on February 18, 2016

I followed the tutorials of basic server configuration, LEMP, wordpress on nginx and WP super cache. When I activate photon plugin images are not shown on my webpage. When I press “open image in a new tab” is says: A TimThumb error has occured The following error(s) occured: You may not fetch images from that site. To enable this site in timthumb, you can either add it to $ALLOWED_SITES and set ALLOW_EXTERNAL=true. Or you can set ALLOW_ALL_EXTERNAL_SITES=true, depending on your security needs.

Also when I open console (F12) I get image errors, 404 not founds. I have configured jetpack correctly but do not know what the problem is, maybe some security issue not allowing jetpack do its job.

2 options were there. To completely remove timthumb from the theme or modify timthumb.php file to allow external sites.
