Hi,

I tried a lot of stuff but there was nothing working to fix my problem. So I did a backup from an image that was stored couple weeks ago. And my site is back online. Even that I lost some changes i did recently.

Anyways. Thank you for your help.

Best.

I have the same issue my database is not connecting
And I have emailed digits ocean 4 times in last 18 hours and no response so far and they don’t have any phone support
Am thinking to change the company because it’s lose of business

Hi,

During the Database not connecting, may I know if @dril and @princesharmanyc are still able to ssh to the server? If so, check the db status.

service mariadb status

If no access, please keep asking DigitalOcean for support, their support is good from my experience, they response quickly everyday even on the FAQ.

Best,
Eric

  • Yes I can access the SSH but not much I could do, I tried service mariadb status, i get “Unit mariadb.service could not be found”. I tried repairing database with define(‘WPALLOWREPAIR’, true); on wp-config but it didn’t work either. I did a OneClick Wordpress Installation for this droplet and I notice on my wp-config that my DB Host is pointed to remotemysql.com.

    • Sounds weird, we did not update the OpenLiteSpeed wordpress image for a while, did you do any system update today?

Can you also submit the issue to support@litespeedtech.com so LiteSpeed support engineer can also take a look. Please append the post link and server temporary access.

      • I did not update anything on my site for more than a week. It was working just fine 30 hours ago. When I tried my site today. I see that it’s back to the default WordPress Theme. And when I tried login in I get. Error establishing database.

        This never happened before.

I would like to submit the issue to support@litesppedtech.com as well. But can’t figure how to make a temporary access.

        Thanks @eleu.

        • That’s fine. LiteSpeed Support will share the the Support public key to you via the ticket. Hope we can help you find out the issue.

        • Hi,

Did you get any support from DigitalOcean yet? How did it go? We did not receive any ticket from you yet.

          • Hi @eleu,

Yes they writed back and refered me with a link to troubleshoot database, but that didn’t fix anything. I didnt to LiteSpeed Support yet, but I am going to do it now.

  • I just opened a new ticket on Digital Ocean for support, and explained everything. I will keep you updated about this if they reach me before you.

No answer man no solution deciding to leaving digital ocean and going to aws

If this happens one of the first things to check is the connection to the database. If you ssh into your droplet and run (these are litespeed server commands) systemctl restart mysql, you may need to run it with sudo sudo systemctl restart mysql and enter your password.

See if that restores the site, if so MySQL stopped running and the next steps would be looking into why that happened.
