Hi Guys,
Hoping a Digital Ocean member can help answer a question for me.
Im trying to figure out just how resilient the platform is? ( The UK platform )
From what I have seen, Its much much much better than my previous VPS/VM hosts. So thats a plus! But I am just trying to figure out if thats just luck or awesome architecture…?
My VM instance… If the server hosting it dies… What happens? DO you actively monitor these hosts? Does it auto migrate to a different host? Your storage platform… I assume that is pretty resilient? Is it backed up in general? ( I know we need our own backups, but just wondering )
Sorry for all the questions, Just trying to figure out if its a platform that could be off for many hours or if its designed to be 100% up no matter what.
Thanks G

I was previously using DreamHost VPS. There seemed to be constant down-time, and my server was always crashing due to excessive memory usage.
Since I switched to DigitalOcean VPS, everything runs smoothly. I did have to troubleshoot a couple of websites that had plugins that were causing MySQL to crash. But that had nothing to do with DigitalOcean.
As always: make sure to have a backup system in place no matter where you are hosting!
I’ve been using digitalocean to host our main sites for over a year now and they’ve been great. The only downtime I’ve had has been caused by myself, zero server issues at all :)
