Moving Ghost to a subdomain using the Ghost Droplet

Posted on January 30, 2015

I’ve tried using several guides and spending way too much time trying to install Ghost manually on an Ubuntu 14.10 x32 droplet. Now I’m thinking to use the Ghost Droplet image and just change the sites-available .conf file in Nginx to blog.mysite.com and edit the config files for Ghost. Is that all that is needed? I have already added the DNS records for the subdomain.

This question was answered by @ryanpq:

If you launch your Ghost droplet and give the new droplet the hostname you want to use you should be all set and just need to point the subdomain to that new droplet’s IP address.
