When a new droplet is created, is LAMP automatically included?

Unless you’re using one of the one-click images, no, you’ll receive a barebones OS which you’ll need to build on (i.e. install a LAMP/LEMP Stack).
If you want to auto-deploy a LAMP Stack, when you click on Create Droplet, you’ll see three options:
Distributions One-Click Apps Snapshots
Click on One-Click Apps and then select LAMP on 16.04 (third column, fifth one down).
When you create a droplet you can select from many disk images to start off with. To launch a LAMP server, on the create page click on the One-Click Apps tab and select the LAMP on 16.04 image. This will let you start out with an Ubuntu 16.04 droplet with a LAMP stack pre-installed.

For example, if you spin up a droplet using when selecting the Ubuntu 20.04 image it will not come with a LAMP stack pre-configured.
However, we also have one-click app droplets from our marketplace. This is the link for the one-click LAMP stack droplet which you can spin up with a single mouse click.
