OK so I’m COMPLETELY new to Digital Ocean. I had someone transfer my Wordpress site from Hostgator to digital ocean and the site is up and running. However it is a WP site and I’m trying to update both the theme as well as some of the plugins. It was my understanding that I can do so within the wp-admin. I enter in my host name, username and password. However it is not working.
With those same credentials, I am able to log into my digital ocean server using FTP, but those credentials do not work within WP (if this makes sense).
Are all the changes I want to make to my site done within Digital Ocean or can I connect the wp-admin to my digital ocean server and still work within WP.
Really, any help I can get is much appreciated.

We’re an Infrastructure as a service provider and provide a Linux cloud server that you receive full control over. We do provide a pre-built WordPress application image which may have been used to set up your site. Are you connecting via FTP (port 21) or SFTP (port 22). Since we don’t provide any droplets with an FTP service enabled by default as it’s inherently insecure, if you’re connecting via FTP your droplet likely has a custom configuration. Can you provide a little more detail.
I am currently trying to connect via FTP. However I see that the credentials I’ve been provided are SFTP.
