I set up a DO droplet for VPN connection as I will be traveling abroad soon and wish to keep traffic tunneled as to avoid “low-hanging fruit”. I am having an issue getting access to internet once connected to OpenVPN.
I followed the tutorial to the letter in “how to set up OpenVPN Ubuntu 14.04”. However, when I connect via client to the VPN, I can see that my ifconfig shows everything went through, connected, I can ping the DO IP address, but I have no communication out of the droplet (i.e. pinging google fails).
My client is running Linux Mint Mate, I can connect just fine to the VPN and the ufw status on the server comes back ok, I have no errors at face value, and have tried a couple of different solutions floating around in various forums which seemed to be the same issue but to no avail.
Any help is much appreciated.

LZO compression enabled on server side, didn’t tick the box for the client side.
