I would like to test something that requires a lot of processing power. But I don’t have a big budget. If I upgrade to one of the more powerful servers, and then delete the droplet after, will the charges be prorated? If so, is it by the hour? Or by the day? Thank you.

Heya, @hagoodmatthew
Yes, DigitalOcean charges for Droplets are prorated by the hour, not by the day.
So if you upgrade to a more powerful Droplet and only use it for a few hours, you’ll only be billed for those hours. Just make sure to destroy the Droplet when you’re done (not just power it off), or you’ll keep accruing charges.
Regards
Heya,
DigitalOcean billing cycles are monthly. Your balance accrues over the course of the calendar month based on the cost of the resources you use. This means that it charges by the hour and you will be chargned only until you have the droplet.
