Private network isolated communication between Load balancer and droplet

Posted on August 21, 2018

As per stated here Private Networking Overview - Features, the communication between droplets within account/team are now isolated.

I would like to know if the case is valid for Load Balancer(within same account/team) to droplets using private networking?

Regards, Mohan

Hi there @pmvermacs,

You can achieve this with the new DigitalOcean VPC networks. That way all of your resources including your Load balancers can communicate securely over their Private IP addresses.

VPC networks are completely isolated from both other customers and other VPCs on your own account. See here for more details:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/networking/vpc/

As mentioned in the answer here, the big changes with the release of VPCs are:

  • You can create multiple VPCs that are isolated from each other
  • You can define the IP range for your VPCs yourself

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
