Replacing images in Spaces does not quickly populate new image to CDN

I’m using Spaces to save user profile pictures and want to load them inside my App. The key of the picture is just the user’s id and if the user uploads a new profile picture I just use the same key again which should replace the old picture. But when I upload a new Picture and visit it’s CDN url, the old one is still being shown (even after 20 minutes). The weird thing is that when hovering over the image the preview shows the new iamge, but visiting the link shows the old one.

Hi there,

It sounds like it’s the DigitalOcean Spaces CDN cache. You might have to clear the cache once the user changes their profile picture as described here:

Alternatively, you could change the name of the file so that the new file name would not be present in the cache and it will show up directly on the site.

Let me know how it goes! Best, Bobby
