I want to find out if anyone has managed to successfully implement a way to resize your droplet when needed, I have a RAM-intensive application that I run maybe once a day and sometimes once a week, when I run it maxes out the RAM as it is currently running on a 2GB ram droplet, I don’t need an always-on droplet so was wondering whether I can resize to a memory-optimized droplet just for when I do the runs, then resize back to the lower option/switch the droplet off when it isn’t running. Just want to understand the costing as it would be pointless having the full memory optimized droplet running 24/7 and paying a large amount monthly - any advise would be appreciated

Heya,
You can definitely resize your droplet according to your requirements. We offer flexible resizing options which allow you to increase or reduce your disk & RAM space. However, some downsizing options may not be available due to disk space constraints.
If you need to run a RAM-intensive operation on a daily or weekly basis, a feasible approach could be to resize your droplet up for the duration of the operation, and then resizing it down or powering it off when not in use. Keep in mind that the resizing process does involve some downtime during which the droplet will be powered off and on again.
