I am buying a droplet for my team member and I want the droplet to be deactivated automatically (not to be destroyed) after a specific date. Is there a way to do this somewhere inside the account management UI?

As of the time being there is no such feature via the UI. But what I could suggest is to use the DigitalOcean API so that you could automate the process with a small script.
Here are a few examples of how to reboot a Droplet with different types of programming languages:

For a shutdown action, you would need to change the
{"type":"reboot"}
part to{"type":"shutdown"}
.Once you have the script in place, you could create a corn job that runs at a specific time and executes the script:
