Hi @forbotnetskids,
During the creation of your droplet, you select and add your SSH key so that you don’t have to use a password. Putty supports this option as well.
If you want to use root password, you need to reset it from your Control Panel once the droplet has been created from the Access Menu.

Can you please provide us with a little bit more information about this? After creating a droplet what happened, you were not able to login with your SSH key and requested a root password E-mail or something else?
I don’t think that by default people receive an e-mail for the creation of a droplet.
