Question

Unable to Access GPU Droplet – SSH & Web Console Connection Lost

I am unable to connect to my GPU Droplet. Here’s what I have tried:

  1. When I open the web console, I get an “SSH Connection lost” error.
  2. When I try to connect via PuTTY using the Droplet’s IP, I get a “Network error: Connection lost” message.
  3. When I ping the Droplet’s IP, it results in a “Request timeout” error.

The Droplet was working fine before, but now I can’t access it in any way. What could be the issue, and how can I resolve this?

The issue was caused by not setting a passphrase when creating the SSH key using PuTTY. I initially generated an SSH key without a passphrase, which led to the problem. To resolve it, I created a new GPU instance with a new SSH key that included a passphrase, and now everything is working properly.

Hi there,

Have you tried rebooting the Droplet from the DigitalOcean control panel?

If the issue persists, reach out to DigitalOcean Support for assistance:

Additionally, check if there are any active firewalls or resource exhaustion issues (like full disk space) that could be causing the connection loss.
