Using DigitalOcean as a VPN Middleman

Hi, I'd like to set up a personal VPN at home behind some firewall like the diagram in the link below. Can someone please give me some advice and pointers? Diagram: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-G25AevvT-mRVppV0xzNENlTDQ
