Question

Vercel & Digital Ocean Mongo DB

How to connect my vercel hosted website to my mongo instance on DigitalOcean? I use the mongo connection string (i.e) mongodb+srv://<user>:<password>@db-mongodb-foo.mongo.ondigitalocean.com/admin?authSource=admin&replicaSet=db-mongodb&tls=true&tlsCAFile=<replace-with-path-to-CA-cert>

But its not possible to upload a CA Cert to vercel (didn’t find any way). And i couldn’t find any way to disable ssl from digitalocean…

Hi there,

Indeed it is not possible to disable the SSL for the Managed MongoDB databases.

An option would be to create the certificate file in your app’s code before initializing the MongoDB connection:

fs.writeFileSync(path.resolve(__dirname, "mongodb.ca.crt"), process.env.CA_CERT)

Then you can reference that file in your connection string as normal.

Best,

Bobby
