What program (W7) to use to connect to my droplet (14.04/WP) console?

  • Posted February 10, 2015

Cause the online console window does not let me paste my ssh key…

I need to know what program and what port to use, can anyone point me in the right direction… I’m kinda lost having tried and failed telnet, winbox, filezilla, etc…

Sorry for the stupid question… ^^

Putty will do the work for windows

<^>so just connect to port 80 with root so I can setup the rest?

edit: What do I choose, Telnet or SSH? I haven’t yet set up SSH…<^>

Ok, I guess my mistake was not selecting SSH in whatever program I used… I figured that I couldn’t use SSH before setting it up, not knowing selecting it would let me log in with the provided credentials for root…

@kooperg DO droplets use SSH to access the console, while putty works, try something more useful like Bitvise (SSH client, SFTP Client, SFTP Bridge, and lot more).

Also SSH uses port 22, 80 is just for accessing the webserver ;-)
