Since the VPC is all within the same DC and shouldn’t go out of the physical network, (possibly even on the same box) what’s the connection speed?

VPCs are bound to accounts. So different customer’s resource cannot communicate over private network even if they are on same physical network.
Connection speed is common, all ports at physical node are capped at 2GBps and all Droplets share the speed.
