I’ve set up a floating IP for my droplet. I don’t know if that was necessary. Do I use now use this floating IP in my DNS settings or keep the original IPv4? I’m trying to set up certbot.

Hello @transat
You can use Droplet IP address or Floating IP to generate the SSL certificate and it should work in both cases. However, I would recommend you to set up using a Floating IP address because this IP address is reserved and can be moved between Droplet in case of any disaster or major issues with Droplet.

Hello there,
Both IPs can be used for A record, this totally depends from your needs and of course future plans.
If you tend to move the domain name between droplets at some point you can use the floating IP address as this can be moved and assigned between droplets.
