Do you have any services running on those ports on your droplet?

To check that use the netstat -plant command.

  • I have been trying to set up an email server using mailinabox with a guide by digital ocean and its advised that those ports need to be open to work the mail. the status check also points to a firewall causing it not to work?

    • Are you using a cloud firewall or just a firewall on your droplet? Can you share your firewall rules?

      • just a firewall on the droplet - via mailinabox
