It’s not a problem and you have not done anything wrong.

It’s normal NOT to see anything when entering a password.

It’s a security feature in Linux/UNIX (Ubuntu) not to show the **** when entering passwords.

You can still type, you just won’t see what you type at the password prompt.

Press Enter and if the password is OK your can go on as normal, if not it will tell you and you can try the password again.

  • Thank you for your help and information.
Btw, can i use 512 MB Ram for Ubuntu 16.04 x32 and Wordpress?

    Thank you,
    Frans W

    • Yes
As far as I tell, you can run WordPress on the basic $5 month droplet on a 32bit Ubuntu.

But personally i’d go with the 64bit version.

      • Is that able and allowed to resize the bit after choosing 32bit?

        • I would not recommend it. It might be possible, but you would have a lot of problems getting things to work.

64bit & 32bit require different versions of software to run.

If you have picked one, it is best to stick to it.
Or start fresh with a new droplet.

          • Is that recommended for using 64 bit on 1GB Ram?
Does multi website affect the RAM’s perfomance?
Any advice, Many Droplets for each website or 1 Droplets for multi website?

            Thank you for your advice!

Linux does not show asterisks when you enter passwords.
