What are the benefits of using Serverpilot to install and manage Wordpress ?
I mean you can still install Wordpress directly from DO without Serverpilot, so why use Serverpilot.

Total Noob, migratin from namecheap shared hosting to DO - please enlighten me about why i should use ServerPilot ?

Looking forward to your replies !

  • You can host multiple sites on one droplet but using the WordPress image will have you paying for a separate droplet for each site.

If you are not familiar with configuring Linux via command line, I suggest using at least one of the free control panels out there to get started (more recommended a paid one).

  • I agree, its free plan is a good option to start with server administration. It has pretty simple and clean GUI, all basic features which you will probably need at the start. But after a couple of moths, when you'll decide that you need more features, I guess 10$ for a new panel isn't the price which you were looking for when choosing free panel. So, isn't it simpler to use more affordable panel like ISPmanager from the very beginning. It has all premium features very similar to panels like cPanel or Plesk and comes for only 4.5 per moth

Some of the reasons people like to use ServerPilot to manage their servers include:

  • Automated server security updates
  • Easily deploying SSL
  • Easily configuring multiple sites on a server
  • Easily changing PHP versions

These are all things you can do manually on a server, but if you're not familiar with server administration, they can be time consuming, difficult, and potentially risky. So, having ServerPilot handle the server configuration and management makes it much easier for many developers to use DigitalOcean servers for hosting WordPress.
