I want to send about 80mb of 18 files from the server as an e-mail attachment in mailgun/node.js to about 1,000 people, I feel like this would be an overload on a $5 digital ocean server considering the number of requests and the size of the files. What do you recommend I do?

Hi there,
It is really hard to say yes or no, but what you could do is separate the task into chunks, so rather than sending 1000 emails, you could do this in 10 runs * 100.
You could also add a swap file so that you could have some extra memory buffer:
