What is the reason for this report?

404 Error on LAMP site

I’m having an issue I recently set up the LAMP stack on my site. I have transferred my index.html and index.css files to /var/www location. It page that shows up it:

Not Found The requested URL / was not found on this server. Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu) Server at Port 80

What can I do to fix this?

as he said your files should be in the default of apache2 /var/www/html/, not to /var/ww/.

Make sure you transfered it to /var/www/html/, not to /var/ww/.

By default, LAMP stack looks for files in /var/www/html, if you didn’t change any Virtual Host setting.
