I deployed an Angular app on Apps Platform. It shows a successful deployment, but I get a 404 when trying to access the app. I have tried setting catchall_document to index.html as suggested in similar questions, but that has no effect.

Where is the index.html file generated at? If it is in a directory like dist, what you could try is in your component settings, to set the Output Directory to dist/name replacing name with the actual name of the directory.
