You should NOT use power cycle or shutdown from the site, they do recommend using the terminal because the site basically does a hard reboot, they warn you that you can lose data. Sad to see them not being able to shutdown safely though!

Note: only shutdown/reboot from site if you’re having problems such as SSH not connecting, droplet frozen, droplet malfunctioning etc.

“… but I do not come back to digitalotsean anymore.”

Where are you going to go? Even the mighty Google and Amazon have lost user’s data in the past.

“… but I do not have backups.”

That’s a hard lesson we’ve all learned, buddy. Next time, when working w/valuable data, make sure you maintain a local copy via duplicity, rsync or Dropbox.

I very much hope that you will be able to do something, but I do not have backups.

Please open up a support ticket so we can get this resolved. Thanks!

All my files stored in home directory. Maybe it was a system error, but I do not come back to digitalotsean anymore.

I type ls -la and it’s show me zero byte on each files.

This shouldn’t happen. Where did you store your files and are you sure they were deleted?

how are you checking this? hopefully it’s just a glitch in the software you’re using on your end, in filezilla hit refresh

good luck
