Hi, we’re using Symfony on one of our digital app platform instance. We have a long running process that requires the increase of the php memory limit. Upon checking the /app/.heroku/php/etc/php/php.ini
, it always resets back the memory_limit
to 128M which is not ideal for processing async long running process.
I already tried the following:
PHP_INI_MEMORY_LIMIT
to 1024M on the environment variablememory_limit=1024M
on my .user.ini file (The other configurations are working like the max_execution_time
and post_max_size
but I don’t know why the memory_limit=1024M
is not picking up.The quick fix for now that I did was to manually update the memory_limit
after deployment but it is cumbersome since I need to do it after deployment.
Thank you in advance!

Hi there,
This is quite interesting, I’ve just tested this and it seems to be working as expected with a
.user.ini
file:I’ve just verified this with a demo project that I have here:
Can you also confirm if your app container that you are using has more than 1GB of memory?
Best,
Bobby
