Why does the bandwidth appear to be zero when there are active users on my website? https://imgur.com/jYF6X8L
What is the difference between using my spaces’ CDN vs my app platform’s CDN to serve my js bundled assets? All I know is that spaces’ CDN doesn’t seem to support gzip compression.
Is there no way to view CDN ingress bandwidth usage until after I’m billed? I have to estimate?

Hi there,
I’m sorry for the inconvenience you’re experiencing with the bandwidth metrics. It can certainly be puzzling to see a discrepancy like this, especially when you have active users on your website. This sounds like a delay in metrics reporting.
Regarding the difference between using Spaces CDN versus the App Platform’s CDN, features like gzip compression can indeed make a noticeable impact on performance and efficiency.
For the visibility of CDN ingress bandwidth usage, I understand how important it is to anticipate and manage your service costs. In the meantime, even though it is not ideal, I could suggest using the current workaround which is to check the daily invoice for any overage charges and also feel free to reach out to the DigitalOcean support team for any further information that you might require.
It looks like someone has had the same idea before and has posted it on our Product Ideas board. The best thing to do would be to head over and add your vote to it, as well as adding any additional information in the comments for exactly what you’d like to see implemented!
Your insights help us grow and improve, and we truly appreciate your contributions to the community!
Best,
Bobby
