Bandwidth between droplets in same data centre

Posted on April 22, 2014

Hi,

New customer here. Thanks for the great prices and performance.

Bandwidth of data transferred between droplets, in the same datacentre, is this bandwidth counted in the monthly included bandwidth count?

Regards, Andy

Thanks Andrew,

Perhaps this might be a silly question, but how do you find out what one’s IP address is, or set one up between droplets.

When running ifconfig -a, I can only see the internet address in the range of 107.170.. which is a publicly accessible address.

And I can’t see anything in the control panel.

On my Amazon EC2 account, it shows in the panel what the private and public IPs are, but I don’t know how to find out here?

Thanks.

Andy

Hi Andrew,

I see now. I don’t see two interfaces.

I just discovered that the server I am on SFO, does not have private networking, but all the other availlable ones do. Bugger.

Any plans on allowing private networking on SFO? (I chose SFO as it has lowest ping times from Australia)

@andy: It’s definitely on the roadmap for the near future, but I couldn’t give you a solid date.
