Question

Can get my LAMP stack up and running.

I created a LAMP stack, my DO IP takes me to a page that says: Please log into your Droplet with SSH to configure the LAMP installation. I have no idea what it wants me to do. When I’m in my account on your site I can launch the terminal with no need of SSH. When I do try to log in via SSH I get this error: Permission denied (publickey) Also, DO lead be to believe that it was going to install the whole LAMP stack (Linux, Apache2, MySQL, & PHP), but after launching the terminal in the browser when signed into DO I was able to run apt install apache2, and apt intstall php, and apt install mysql-server, if the one click button LAMP install worked all of those packages should have already been installed and it shouldn’t have let me install them. I’ve setup a LAMP many times on my own Linux machines, I’m completely lost here on your site. Please help, thanks.

Hi there,

In addition to what has already been mentioned, you can follow the steps here on how to SSH to your Droplet:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/how-to/connect-with-ssh/

Regarding the SSH keys error, you can follow the steps on how to generate new SSH keys here:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/how-to/add-ssh-keys/

Let me know how it goes!

Best,

Bobby

Hi @garrett85,

In order to complete your LAMP configuration, you have available our How To Install Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) stack on Ubuntu 20.04 tutorial, in case you are using Ubuntu 20.04.

When you first create a new Ubuntu 20.04 server, you should perform some important configuration steps as part of the initial setup. These steps will increase the security and usability of your server, and will give you a solid foundation for subsequent actions. You could check out the Initial Server Setup with Ubuntu 20.04 tutorial for it.

Hope that helps you, - Sergio Turpín
