Hi,
I’m currently running MySQL on a droplet, and I’d like to move to a managed database. I set one up to test and it’s version 8.0. That’s an LTS but it’s from 2018. I was expecting at least v8.4 LTS (released April 2024).
I need some spatial functions from v8.3 or above for our app. Is it possible to create a v8.4 managed cluster? If not, are there any plans to offer it in the near future?
Thanks.

Hi there,
As far as I can see at the moment, DigitalOcean managed MySQL only supports version 8.0, and it’s not possible to create a cluster with 8.4. There’s no public ETA for newer versions.
It might be worth posting this as a feature request here: https://ideas.digitalocean.com/
