Can I limit the quota of a folder?

Posted on March 8, 2013

I’m using Ubuntu Server 12.10 x64 and I have all my sites in /home/username/www There are several folders there, say I want a folder to consume at most 20MB

Can I do that?

Thanks.

Been awhile since I used ubuntu and you may have to install this, but here is a link. http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/natty/man1/fs_setquota.1.html

Chris

Did anyone get this working? I’m also trying to do this. I installed openafs-client but couldn’t get it working…

Anyone else have an easy solution for setting folder/directory limits?

Thanks!

It’s not possible to have a quota setting per directory. You can do it either per volume or per user:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-enable-user-quotas
