can I switch from monthly to hourly plan without destroing my droplet ?

Hello, elcom64! There’s no difference between the monthly and the hourly “plan”. Every Droplet is billed hourly from your DigitalOcean credit. If you do not pay through PayPal, you’ll owe what you used till the end of the month (when DigitalOcean will effectively take the money from your credit card).
If you use, let’s say, the 5$/month plan, which is 0.007$/hour, assuming there are 24 * 30 = 720h in each month, you’ll have to pay 5.00$ instead of 0.007 * 720 = 5.04$ if you use your server for the entire month. That’s the only benefit of using the Droplet during 30 continuous days.
